Mónica (Móni) leads NFF’s strategies to foster excellence, equity, and a high-performance, values-aligned culture. With over two decades working across mission-driven organizations, Moni brings deep expertise in talent strategy, organizational development, and culture transformation – and a steadfast commitment to equity-centered, people-focused leadership.
Before joining NFF, she served as Chief Talent Officer at UnboundEd Learning, where she built the organization’s first Talent function. She was also Chief Talent Officer at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools and Chief HR Officer for the San Francisco Unified School District. Her leadership is rooted in experiences consulting with school districts and state agencies to design equitable talent systems, and in her beginnings as a bilingual and special education teacher in Los Angeles.
A certified SPHR, she holds dual degrees from UC Berkeley and is an alum of Harvard’s Public Education Leadership Program and the Equity Lab’s Acelero Nexus Accelerator Fellowship.
