As a Director of Loan Origination, Katya (pronounced KAH-tee-yah; she/her) generates pipeline and builds relationships with communities and partners across the Mid-Atlantic and the South, with a focus on her current city of residence, Philadelphia. Katya joined NFF in August 2022 and was thrilled to contribute and build on her 10 years of experience originating, underwriting, and managing loans to community development corporations, affordable housing developers, arts and culture organizations, and small businesses.
Katya is experienced in financing working capital needs as well as a variety of physical community assets, including affordable housing, community facilities, educational facilities, and commercial developments. She frequently coordinates across private and public capital sources, including New Market Tax Credits (NMTC), Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historic Tax Credits (HTC), Capital Magnet Funds (CMF), Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) funds, and Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) programs.
Katya started her career managing Pennsylvania’s largest adult literacy and GED program. She loved that work, but was hungry to address the root problems and systemic injustices that landed people in those programs. She found her calling in the CDFI industry. Katya is passionate about facilitating equity and opportunity in underserved communities through access to catalytic investments.
