Connecting with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs): Learning from Failure and Success

Erin Heilman connected with NFF's Meadow Didier and Brian Kellaway about the challenges many community-based organizations (CBOs) face when partnering with hospitals, as well as solutions and tools for more effective partnerships between CBOs and health systems.
Among the challenges cited were:
- Newer, smaller CBOs led by people of color are often excluded
- Because of how they're funded, CBOs often lack data and technology expertise
- A lack of funding for indirect costs means tough choices for CBOs
