Owen Serra, Director of Loan Origination, builds pipeline and relationships on the West Coast with a focus on the Northern California market. He has over 10 years of community development experience as a lender and consultant. Prior to Nonprofit Finance Fund, Owen was a Senior Loan Officer at the Northern California-based CDFI Community Vision Capital and Consulting. In his prior role he originated, structured, and underwrote loans for affordable housing, community facilities, Federally Qualified Health Clinics (FQHC), and New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) projects. Prior to his lending career he was a nonprofit consultant at Community Vision working with San Francisco organizations.
Before Community Vision, Owen provided economic and financial consulting services to nonprofits and municipalities at BAE Urban Economics and spent time working and researching abroad. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Davidson College and Masters of Planning in Economic Development and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Owen is fluent in Spanish.
