April Nicole Brown-Hardy (she/her/hers) is a senior credit executive with over 15 years of experience. In her current role as a Director of Portfolio Management at Nonprofit Finance Fund, she manages lending relationships across the entire education portfolio. Previously she worked on Wall Street as a Structured Lender for Bank of New York, where she originated and managed complex credit facilities for ultra-high net worth individuals, trusts, and operating companies. Taking special interest in the not-for-profit and mission-driven organizations, she lent to food banks, churches, and consulted on affordable housing projects – overseeing a portfolio exceeding $700 million dollars in credit facilities.
April has spearheaded initiatives that integrate AI and Salesforce technology into credit operations, enhancing efficiency and collaboration. She has also spearheaded cross-functional teams that drove growth, compliance, and innovation.
She began her career at Wells Fargo, where she ranked among top Bankers in the San Francisco market. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of California at Berkeley.
April is a graduate of the 100 Black Women’s Positive Steps program and enjoys mentoring youth. April also serves on the executive board of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Newark NJ.
