In my education I have been a devotee to all things humanities – literature, history, philosophy. Stories gave me a feeling of connectedness and I liked being carried by narratives along a progression that always made sense because of their inherent linearity. I found my way to NFF through my passion for social justice, and found my path towards data analytics through a gradual understanding of the stories quantitative data tell. I enjoy the linearity in data analytics and reporting, and it becomes more meaningful knowing that these numbers represent real impact in someone’s story. To see the impact of NFF’s work through the stories our numbers tell is to believe that every act by individuals matter, from underwriting a loan to sharing client stories. It’s meaningful for me to know the cumulative effort that lies behind each number and how these efforts help move the nonprofit sector towards a direction of equity and justness that we collectively believe is possible.
