With over 40 years of lending, financial capacity building, community engagement, and advocacy expertise, NFF is a nonprofit and community development financial institution deeply committed to social justice.
In 2022, we:
Originated $34 million in total new lending and NMTC investments to 56 organizations, financing that will benefit more than 2.6 million individuals and families
Provided direct, tailored financial management and financial consulting to 280 nonprofits and reached nearly 1,800 nonprofit leaders through short engagements, events, and consulting webinars
Collected and shared data, stories, and advice from over 1,100 nonprofit leaders in our State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey on the impact of the past two years, from the pandemic to events that activated calls for racial justice
But these accomplishments simply aren't enough.
With NFF’s first African American CEO, Aisha Benson, and over two-thirds of our staff and senior leadership identifying as people of color, NFF is entering the next phase of our organizational history. We’re providing new investment products and capacity-building services, reinvigorating our commitment to racial and financial equity, and increasing the flow of capital to organizations led by and serving communities of color.
