Janelle Paule

I have always loved writing. On career day in the 4th grade, I threw on a beret, borrowed a pair of my mom’s velvet flare pants, and announced to Mrs. Singh’s entire class that I was dressed up as a writer. Through the years, my love for writing has only grown and has led me to meet fellow BIPOC artists to create, collaborate, and organize with. As a poet, lifelong learner, and lover of words, stories remind me of our shared humanity, and I am honored to get to tell the stories of so many great people I’ve met along the way.

Based in Los Angeles, you will often find me tending to my makeshift apartment garden, admiring the most vivid hues of pink and orange cotton candy sunsets.
