Eric Lynch

I think about the future, a lot. This probably comes from my early love of science fiction and astronomy. Looking to the stars, after all, is like travelling through time. I wonder, what will the world be like in a thousand years? Or a million? I think about all the challenges we're facing in getting there – inequity, injustice, climate change – and I realize that for most of us, before we're even to consider this future, there's work to do to get through today. So I ask myself, what am I doing to help make the world a better place today? This is the calling to work in the advocacy space.

It feeds my soul to be working for NFF, helping other organizations tackling issues affecting their communities, ultimately working toward the same end, to help make the world a better place, to get us one step closer to that better future we all hope for.

Outside of NFF, creating music is my passion, from producing cinematic scores for the movies I see in my mind, to creating chill beats to vibe with, to composing full symphony orchestra movements that exist as lines and dots on my computer. Next to that, you're likely to find me trail running, at home cooking a simple but delicious vegan meal, or watching the latest, most twisted, critical darling movies (i.e., A24 films).

Bio: Eric (he/him) produces video and audio projects that highlight stories about NFF's work, its people, and its clients. This includes producing episodes of the Where We Go From Here video series, plus motion graphics content. Before NFF, Eric worked as a freelance filmmaker producing both fiction and documentary projects, and teaching filmmaking and journalism at Northern Arizona University. Most of his documentary work has been centered on issues such as climate change, food access, social justice, animal welfare, and education. Eric has a Bachelor of Science in Creative Media and Film and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Northern Arizona University. He also obtained his Master of Arts in Applied Communication with a Documentary Studies emphasis and a graduate certificate in Science Communication from Northern Arizona University.
