Director, Loan Servicing

Asia Edwards

Having spent an equal share of my professional life in both social services and loan operations, I sought an organization that offered the best of both those industries. During my search for that perfect fit, I immediately became inspired by the work that NFF does in the most under-served communities, for the most under-served populations.

As Loan Administrator, my responsibilities consist of not only servicing a portfolio of loans, but also serving people who understand the needs of their community by providing the capital for projects that aim to make true impact in their purpose. I take great pride in being able to combine my years of commercial loan operations experience and my innate desire to give the best of myself to the service of others. An exciting recent project that I just wrapped is transitioning the loan servicing of the full NFF portfolio from our external vendor to an in-house operation.

When I'm not reviewing loan agreements, speaking to borrowers, and assisting in data migration (that last one is such fun!), I am usually in my kitchen with my husband and twins whipping up my world-famous chili, on the road for our next family adventure, hiking the South Mountain Reserve, or reading all about social equity issues from works by Mehrsa Baradaran and Matthew Desmond, to name few.

A favorite quote of mine, made by the revered Marcus Garvey, is one that I hope my life legacy will reflect: "The ends you serve that are selfish will take you no further than yourself; but the ends you serve that are for all, in common, will take you into eternity.” ― Marcus Garvey
