As a New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Manager, Aoi supports NFF's NMTC portfolio by performing variety of duties, including loan servicing, cash management activities, financial reviews, financial reporting, and other reporting obligations to investors and the CDFI Fund. Prior to rejoining NFF, Aoi worked with New Jersey Future’s Funding Navigator program to ensure the water systems and municipalities serving overburdened communities are accessing the State Revolving Fund (SRF) established specifically for water infrastructure projects. In addition, she worked with the Newark Water Coalition and 501CTHREE to advocate for clean water for the residents of her hometown of Newark, NJ and co-authored in an environmental justice journal publication on the lead issues in Newark, NJ.
NMTC’s focus on increasing diverse representation in community development and finance within Black and Latinx communities, along with NFF’s strategic goals, align with her personal and professional values, which are the main drivers for her work. She is a results-driven, strategically-focused professional who brings knowledge of issues amongst underserved communities through lived experience with a passion for addressing these problems and a professional background to make a difference locally. She holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Kean University.
