Senior Director

Angela Francis

I think about data and systems a lot. How we can use them to improve the outcomes of our work with clients and progress toward our strategy? My work always comes back to that, whether I’m focused on NFF’s Theory of Change or how we can make our data practices more equitable.

I’ve been with NFF for a while, but before that, I was miscast as an environmental organizer and quickly learned that I was much better suited to be a grant writer. My degrees are in advertising and women’s studies – subjects I *really* enjoy talking about. I will also talk to you about all things audiovisual, which is probably how I became the chief booster of my very own A.V. club. It’s a demanding but rewarding job that requires endless tinkering with the backyard cinema setup and a commitment to keeping it together when someone disagrees with your pick for album of the year.

Bio: As a member of the newly-formed Learning & Impact team, Angie (she/her/hers) is focused on better understanding NFF’s mission impact. She brings 17 years of nonprofit experience to this role, spanning data systems, outcomes measurement, business development, and direct financial consulting with nonprofit clients. Before joining NFF, Angie was the senior grantwriter at Isles, Inc., a community development corporation located in Trenton, NJ. Prior to that, she managed campaigns to register new voters. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, she holds degrees in communications and women’s studies and currently works from her ‘home office’ in Philadelphia.
