NFF Opens 8th State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey
Raising Voices to Provide Crucial Social Sector Data
New York – January 17, 2018 – Calling on nonprofit leaders across the country to stand up and be counted, Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) today opened the 8th edition of its State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey.
The largest national look at the health and challenges of US nonprofits, NFF’s Survey gathers quantitative and qualitative data from thousands of organizations of all sizes, missions, and geographies. NFF publishes both its analyses and the aggregated, anonymized data, in a filterable, online platform that’s available free of charge to support research, advocacy, budgeting, planning, and grantmaking.
“As nonprofit leaders, we have a responsibility to show the country what’s working and what’s at stake on the frontlines of America’s most vulnerable communities,” said Antony Bugg-Levine, CEO of NFF. “NFF is proud to lead this grassroots effort that raises nonprofit voices and helps redress the critical shortage of social-sector data, building a strong evidence base for our dialogues with decision-makers.” (Read Bugg-Levine’s blog on GuideStar.)
NFF launched the Survey in 2009, when economic crisis threatened the viability of many organizations. By 2015, the US economic recovery was well underway – but the Survey found that vulnerable communities were going without because nonprofits couldn’t meet increasing demand. NFF relies on hundreds of partners to help the Survey reach and raise the voices of as many nonprofit leaders as possible. Email email@example.com if you’d like to participate.
NFF thanks the Bank of America Charitable Foundation for generously supporting the State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey since 2010. The 2018 Survey is also generously supported by The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, BKD CPAs & Advisors, and Asian Pacific Community Fund.
