March 3, 2020

LOS ANGELES – March 3, 2020 – Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) has added Kristina Dixon to its senior leadership team as CFO and Managing Director, Finance and Administration. Ms. Dixon will help advance NFF’s commitment to ensuring nonprofits have the resources to meet community needs.

“Kristina shares NFF’s passion for building financial strength as a means to improve mission results,” said Antony Bugg-Levine, CEO of NFF. “When I learned that Kristina’s doctorate research was on building the financial and administrative capacity of organizations that receive public funds, I knew we’d found not only a highly capable leader, but a kindred spirit.”

Ms. Dixon will oversee NFF’s finance, information technology, and talent and organizational effectiveness functions.

“To make progress on the most pressing issues of our day we need strong nonprofits, and knowledgeable advocates like NFF backing those nonprofits,” said Ms. Dixon. “Community-based organizations need resources and the freedom to do what they know works best to improve outcomes related to entrenched racial and economic inequities, health, housing, education, and more.”

Ms. Dixon joins NFF from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. When funding through the agency to address the homelessness crisis grew from $75 million to over $400 million annually, she guided the organization's operational expansion and its evolution as an active partner to service providers. She also previously held finance leadership positions with the Los Angeles Urban league, Jenesse Center, Chinatown Service Center, and worked as a key member of the finance team at First 5 LA. In all these positions, she earned a reputation as a truth-teller and trust builder.

“As someone who has worked for funders and nonprofits, Kristina understands entrenched dynamics and how we can better work together toward common goals,” said Henry A.J. Ramos, NFF Board Chair and Principal of Mauer Kunst Consulting. “She’s earned a reputation as a bold and effective leader addressing homelessness in Los Angeles, one of the most complex, pressing, and scrutinized issues of our time. She understands how to work across sectors to get results.” Read Antony and Kristina’s recent discussion of these topics on our Social Currency blog.

Ms. Dixon will be based in Los Angeles.
