State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey Data Highlighted in City Council Testimony
On June 21, 2018, Jina Paik, Director, Advisory Services at Nonprofit Finance Fund, testified at a joint meeting of the City Council committees on general welfare and contracts. She highlighted 2018 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey data to help local nonprofit leaders bolster their campaign to secure better contracts with city agencies. Paik outlined that 97 percent of respondents that identified as NYC human services providers said that contracts from all levels of government were underfunded, and 75 percent report that their local contracts pay late — compared to the national rate of 56 percent among comparable nonprofits with local government funding.
