Growing “Us vs. Them” Mentality Undermines Nonprofits and the People We Serve

Findings from the 2018 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey shows nonprofits' concerns about the communities and clients they support.

“What more than 3,000 respondents told us is this: demand keeps growing faster than nonprofits’ ability to meet it. It’s become very hard to reach many people who need help but are afraid to ask for it. Uncertainty hinders planning. It’s still very difficult for many nonprofits to cover the full costs of what the country relies on us to do and keep the lights on.”
