I came to NFF in 2014 after a decade of working at a bank, and I’m still in awe of the things we do that traditional lenders just can’t. Here, I learned that the term patient capital isn’t just jargon – we partner with our clients through thick and thin. Overseeing a portfolio that ranges from an immigrant rights organization located in my hometown in Queens, NYC, to nonprofits fighting the homelessness crisis in LA, I’ve worked with borrowers as they grow and expand, and occasionally, as they hit rough spots and have to change direction.
Having served as Resource Manager, I’m also a former member of the Social Innovation and Equity Council (SIEC), a group of staff that works across the organization to provide strategic support and accountability in our commitment to equity.
Outside of work, you can find me hanging out with cats (my own, plus ones that I foster through a rescue), traveling to new or favorite places (latest one was the Azores – incredible!), tinkering in the kitchen (breadmaking was a success, ice cream making not so much), and reading on the subway (really digging Tayari Jones’ books right now).
Bio: Kristine oversees NFF’s diverse loan portfolio and manages relationships with borrowers throughout the country, monitoring compliance, overseeing disbursements, and underwriting restructures and renewals. Prior to joining NFF, she was a Senior Underwriter in the Commercial Real Estate Group at JPMorgan, where she originated, structured, and closed large loan transactions and managed a credit portfolio. As a National Urban Fellow, Kristine worked with the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone to support commercial development in that community. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College.
